THE 2025 OPEN EXHIBITION HAS NOW CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR EXHIBITING ARTISTS AND VISITORS FOR MAKING THE SHOW A GREAT SUCCESS!

Exhibition Preview Event:  SATURDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER 2025

Welcome to the Wisbech Gallery 2025 Open Exhibition

We are proud to launch the Wisbech Gallery 2025 Open Exhibition, our annual competition which celebrates a rich diversity of creative skills.  This is the third Annual Open that the Blackfield Creatives team have managed and this Exhibition celebrates the huge pool of talent that exists within the creative sector in this region. This stunning space allows us to showcase their work and the 2025 Open brings together a unique collection of more than 100 artworks that we hope will inspire, and possibly, challenge visitors, and demonstrate the importance of having access to the Arts.

We want visitors to the Exhibitions in Wisbech Gallery to be able to view and enjoy a wide range of different artworks, so we were delighted to receive submissions this year which included all types of media, including paintings, photography, sculptures, textiles, mixed media and ceramics The pieces chosen for the 2025 Open demonstrate the skills required to create these art forms and we hope that they will inspire and encourage you to learn more about the artwork, the artists and their wider creative practice too.

Artists Days in Wisbech Gallery

We will be joined by a number of the exhibiting artists over the coming weeks, when the Gallery is open to the public, so why not come in, view the exhibition and have a chat with the artists too? Many of the exhibiting artists have also created prints, art cards and books, which are available for sale in the Gallery shop, so please take a few moments to browse through these items while you visit the Exhibition.

Wisbech Gallery 2025 Open Exhibition – Meet The Judges

We were delighted to welcome our two independent judges to Wisbech Gallery on Monday 11th August 2025 to review the submissions for the 2025 Open Exhibition. The judges, Steph Peachey, who is Head of Visitor Engagement at the Nene Park Trust, and Jamie Andrews, the winner of our 2024 Open Exhibition, were supported by our Creative Director, Tim Mann, and our Gallery Manager, Ruby Bellamy, who managed the administrative process on the day.

As a reminder, the two Judges only got to view the submission images and were told about the size of each piece and the medium used – they did not have any details about the artists who had submitted their work, so their selections truly were made on the strength of the artworks!

After the Panel had concluded, Ruby Bellamy, Wisbech Gallery Manager, told us “This is the second year I have been involved with the Wisbech Gallery Annual Open exhibition, and it has been an honour to see the growth, not only in the number of artwork submissions, but the quality of the pieces that were entered.

Steph and Jamie had some tough decisions to make when choosing the artworks for display this year, and I believe the selections made are going to come together to create an incredible showcase of exceptional artworks. While Tim and I were able to offer support with curatorial advice and panel administration, the final decisions were made by the independent judges.

Thank you to the community for your continued support for the Gallery and participation in the Annual Open; the Blackfield Creatives team are excited to provide such an incredible platform for artists within Wisbech Gallery.”
